Hard work sure does have its rewards. Just ask anyone who’s hiked up Diamond Head. The climb up this volcano crater is a sticky, sun-soaked trudge up narrow paths that meander through lush flora and dry brush. But at the top, you realise why you made the effort. The views sweep over the Pacific as it fades from turquoise to deep blue, and blurs into the cloud-wisped horizon.
